Marvelocity è la nuova opera di Alex Ross che funge da controparte alla già edita Mythology per la DC Comics.
Tra le notizie già confermate questa nuova opera conterrà una storia di Spider-Man scritta dallo stesso Ross e vede l’Arrampica-muri fronteggiare i Sinistri Sei. Marvelocity, così come Mythology, sarà edito da Chip Kidd che scriverà la storia originale del volume ma non è chiaro se sarà coinvolto nella storia di Spider-Man.
La sinossi di Marvelocity è la seguente:
“Thirteen years after his Eisner Award-winning, nationally best-selling Mythology–here is the long-awaited Marvel Comics counterpart, a retrospective celebration of the other half of the comics galaxy that is currently ruling the world: Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther, the Avengers, the X-Men, Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the Fantastic Four. “
“Tredici anni dopo il suo premio Eisner con il best-seller Mythology- ecco la tanto attesa controparte Marvel Comics, una celebrazione retrospectiva dell’altra parte della galassia fumettistica che sta comandando il mondo: Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther, The Avengers, X-Men, Doctor Strange, i Guardiani della Galassia e i Fantastici Quattro.”
Ta-Nehisi Coates dichiara a riguardo:
“Alex is a legend. Even if you don’t consider yourself a comics-head, you should check out his work to see what the best of the form has to offer.”

Marvelocity racchiuderà oltre 50 sketch mai pubblicati, modelli di lavoro dei personaggi Marvel più amati. Inoltre la storia di dieci pagine scritta da Ross avrà un finale inaspettato.
Avremo inoltre un’introduzione scritta da J.J.Abrams.
Marvelocity vedrà la luce il 2 ottobre 2018
